Editorial standards

Floorscapes is not a contractor and not a product catalogue. We publish long-form advice that a careful Australian reader could take to a showroom or a site meeting. These rules apply to staff essays and to guest posts.

Facts, metres and climate

Prices are ranges, dated, and labelled as typical trade figures rather than quotes. We write in metres squared, not square feet. We distinguish Perth limestone, Melbourne weatherboards, Sydney sandstone, Brisbane raised timber and Darwin humidity instead of pretending Australia is one climate.

Standards we actually name

Wet areas engage the National Construction Code and AS 3740. Slip resistance is discussed through AS 4586. Resilient flooring installation is discussed through AS 1884. Floating-floor warranties usually rest on the manufacturer's guide plus those documents — we do not invent a single "Australian floating floor standard". When we are not sure, we say so.

Sources and links

We link with descriptive anchor text and real <a href> elements, following Google's crawlable links guidance. We do not hide navigation behind buttons or JavaScript-only click handlers. Paid, gifted or commercially motivated outbound links use rel="sponsored".

Corrections

If we get a slip rating, a species, or a cost band wrong, email the editors. Material corrections are noted on the piece.
